Sue Fong Obituary

Sue Haw Fong, 75, of Portland, Oregon, passed away on September 12, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 6, 1949, in Guangzhou, China, to Yip Teen Kwan and Wai Ging Yow and spent her childhood in Guangzhou before immigrating to the United States in the 1990s.

Sue was a devoted wife to Chuen for more than forty years and a loving mother to Gang. As the heart of her family, she always prioritized the well-being of her loved ones. Sue was known for her incredible strength, kindness, and generosity; which touched the lives of all who knew her.

She was passionate about traveling and was always eager to explore new and familiar cultures. At home, Sue found joy in cooking, gardening, hiking, and listening to karaoke, and she cherished every moment spent with family and friends.

Sue will be remembered for her unwavering love, selflessness, and the personal sacrifices she made throughout her life, especially when she bravely immigrated to the U.S. to build a new life for her family. Her legacy of resilience and devotion will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Chuen; her son, Gang, and his wife, Austina; her grandchildren, Mia and Jay; her brothers, Wen Ming and Wen Chang; and her sisters, Sau Ling and Sau Jean.
